We invite you to apply for one of our pre-show FAM trips and experience Zanzibar before arriving at Essence of Africa. These itineraries have been curated by participating suppliers and generously offered to our hosted buyers.
The FAM trips will take place from 17–19 October 2026.

Due to the limited number of places available on each itinerary, we cannot guarantee that you will receive your first choice. We appreciate your understanding.
Once your FAM trip has been confirmed, you will have one week to upload your travel documents via the Travel Portal link. As places are limited, we are unable to hold confirmed allocations for buyers who do not submit their travel documentation within the required timeframe.
If you arrive in Zanzibar on 16 October, accommodation and arrangements for this night will be at your own expense.
Arrival in Zanzibar: Friday, 16 October (own arrangements for this night) or early Saturday morning, 17 October for immediate departure from the airport
Departure for FAM trips: Saturday morning, 17 October
FAM trip drop-off: Monday afternoon, 19 October (at the Essence of Africa event venue/hotel)

No official post-show FAM trips will be offered as part of the hosting programme. Itineraries offered independently by our exhibiting partners are displayed towards the end of this page. Please contact the providers directly.
Additional FAM trip opportunities beyond Zanzibar may be arranged directly with participating suppliers and fall outside the official Essence of Africa programme. Please refer to the Exhibitor List on the website to identify suitable suppliers and contact them directly.

Pre-show FAM trips are independently hosted and operated by participating suppliers. While Essence of Africa is pleased to facilitate these opportunities for hosted buyers, all accommodations, transportation, activities, services and itinerary arrangements are the responsibility of the hosting company.
By selecting and participating in a FAM trip, buyers acknowledge that Essence of Africa, its directors and their related companies, act solely as facilitators of the programme and accept no responsibility for any loss, injury, illness, delay, cancellation, change of itinerary, service disruption or additional costs arising from participation in a FAM trip.
Buyers are responsible for ensuring they hold appropriate travel, medical and personal liability insurance for the duration of their trip.
