How do I become a hosted buyer?

Top-producing buyers, specialised in selling Africa or showing potential to sell Africa, will be considered for the hosting programme.

Please complete the application and answer all questions as completely as you can. The organising team may need to contact you for further details to support your application.

Hosted Buyer approvals are done in batches, in consultation with a selection committee.

What is included in the 2026 hosting programme?

Flight Reimbursement:
Contribution towards your travel expenses, provided all hosting criteria is met (up to an agreed maximum amount per region based on approximately 50% of flight costs)

Hotel:
Hotel accommodation for 4 nights, bed & breakfast basis 

Official Transfers:
Transfers between the airports, hotels, event venue and official events

Show access:
Admission to Essence of Africa on all 3 event days

Meeting Schedule:
Access to the online diary system for 38 pre-scheduled appointments

Access to Networking Events:
Daily lunch and networking catering.
Please note dinners are excluded from the hosting programme and are for the individual buyers’ accounts.

Is there a registration fee for the hosting programme?

No, there are no registration fees applicable to buyers for Essence of Africa 2026.

Over three days, buyers from key source markets worldwide will engage in up to 36 pre-scheduled appointments with exhibitors from across Africa to foster cooperation and explore business opportunities. You will be able to select and assess the suitability of these meetings before the event.

Evening networking events promise to facilitate relationship building, while a dynamic seminar programme featuring renowned industry leaders will unpack critical issues and trends shaping tourism in Africa.
